Blow up an 8 megapixel image? A 1024x768 monitor is not even 1 mega pixel so even a 2 megapixel image would be larger than your screen. As to printing it out a 3.2 megapixel image is the same quality as a film photograph printed out even when it is a 12x10 (inch) print.
As you can see every other post so far, apart from yours, agrees with me that more mega pixels is just a gimmick the trap people who think more is better.
