I'm very well satisfied with my Fuji F40. I've had it for 1½ weeks now, and I've taken more than 600 pictures with it so far. The only ones that have turned out blurry have resulted from me shaking and definitely not from anything the camera did.
Buying a Powershot S5 (which does look like a damn nice camera) would set me back over $150 more than what my F40 cost. Plus, the F40 is small enough for me to take it along with me where ever I go. Missing a great photo because your camera is too chunky and you left it at home really sucks.
This is no "Lame-o-portable" !!!! It really gets the job done for it's price and size. Superior digital quality photos both at rest and on the move. I keep it in my pocket half of the time and the results are not that of a professional camera; but with the anti-blur and facial recognition even an idiot like me can come up with AMAZING results. Zoom ins of bluffs across the pacific bay, seagulls flying high over the ocean, a team of pelicans, amazing close ups of flowers and bees.....yep, my family thinks I know what I'm doing and they are amazed at the ease of loading the videos into My Space, too !!!! On this one; you get what you pay for......and if you doubt me; try finding one for sale at this time of year........they are hard to come by !!!!
