Canon HV50 HD camcorder spotted?
What's this you say? A followup to Canon's HV20 digital camera that isn't even out yet here in the US? This supposed HV50 ups the ante on the HV20 by supposedly having a three-CMOS sensors for 1080p (and 720p) video, 18x zoom (over 10x), and 5 megapixel still images. Slow down there, cowboy, we need that first model launched before we can start worrying about the next, ok?
Update: Consensus is... it's a fake. A good one, but as noted in various forums, the focal length stamped on the lens is 6.1-61mm, which isn't 18x, it's 10x like the HV20. Conveniently obscured in the picture above, but visible in others. Thanks for playing!

Some other relevant data would be nice such as weight, LCD size, hopefully an internal hard drive. For the prices these HD video recorders are going for they need to include at least a 40GB hard drive and preferably in some sort of package that is user upgradeable/replaceable. That would make the already the upgrade to the HV20 (if this rumor is true) a really enticing product.

I also wonder what the storage medium is.
Although, I personally prefer miniDV because you can change to a new tape and not have to clean the HDD off every 20 minutes or whatever.

erm it uses tape. so the hard drive would be somewhat superfluous.

Comments at the linked article (Read) site say this is a fake. Proceed with caution...

Totally fake!
An 18x zoom would mean the chips would be tiny, let alone room for three.
It's fake.

Yes, DVi.net has already uncovered it's a fake.
Either somebody still doesn't know how to verify legitimate leaks, or they're having fun at the expense of those who have yet to come down from the HV20 high.
Something that makes it a dead giveaway is the focal length marked on the front of the lens as 18x zoom, yet it still has the same 6.1-61mm markings. There are other obvious clues which have already been pointed out by people within Canon USA who are laughing their collective asses off at anyone who's taking this seriously.
That isn't to say that something similarly spec'd won't come out in the future, but it aint this cam. That's pretty obvious.

Can anyone recommend a good 1080 HD camcorder preferably with a hardrive that records in MP4/AVC. Planning about getting one third/fourth quarter this year. Price could be around 1000-1500 bucks. Thanks!
