Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 and S700 get the FCC go-ahead

Do not confuse the Sony Cyber-shot S700 with the Sony Ericsson S700i cameraphone, the Sony Network Walkman S700, Sharp S700 carabiner player, or even Samsung's S700 digital camera, and to a lesser extent, Canon's SD700 -- this thing is different. Different we say! Actually, it's just Sony's latest digital camera, a 7 megapixel number that that uses AA batteries, and has a 2.4-inch 480 x 240 resolution display, or a 2.0-inch display on the slightly lower end S650. We're still a little confused as to why they were in the FCC; as far as we can tell they have no WiFi or Bluetooth, but hey, so it goes. Coming soon to a very confused electronics retailer near you.

buh thats odd, why need to go to the FCC with just a regular old Digicam? unless it dus have bluetooth or something to send pics to other devices (i.e. cell phone) wirelessly..

we'll have to wait and see i guess.

As far as I know, all electronics have to go through FCC testing to make sure they don't interfere with emergency broadcasts or whatnot. Take a look at the back of your iPod- there's even an FCC logo on there.

There may be several reasons why the cameras needed FCC approval. If the camera has a microprocessor that operates above 1.705 MHz or connects to one that does. I'm not sure if these cameras have microprocessors in them, they probably do, but I know they do connect to the USB port of any computer. The cable can act as an antenna and either receive or transmit signals from or to the computer. As a matter of fact, the one I have has a ferrite bead molded onto the cable about an inch from the camera end suggesting the noise comes from the camera. Another requirement is if a digital device consumes more than 6 nanowatts and I'm sure this does, even though it runs off of two AA batteries. You would be surprised as to how many different types of devices have to be approved by the FCC.

I Buy Sony DSC S650 ,but when i buy (original)memory stick pro duo 2gb , i found a problem !
1.Preview is not posible
2.After storage of a 650mb its not posible to open pictures or video files,
3.Its not posible to format memory card on the camera
4.BEST FAMOUS MESSAGE ON THIS CAMERA IS "FORMAT ERROR"
